A black belt in Judo and Ju-Jitsu the 41 year old carries 14 KO/TKO wins from his MMA career and looks to add to that on Saturday in Birmingham. He squares off against Dawid Chylinski who holds 3 wins to his name under Bad To The Bone but 2 losses under the BKFC banner. A tough first outing for Wallhead who’s had more than 2 years out of combat sports and coming up against a more experienced bare knuckle fighter however, it’s a challenge he is relishing.
When speaking with FullForceCombat at the BKFC 77 press conference we asked him outright “why now Jimmy?” to which he responded “Sucker for punishment, mate. I’ve been retired 2 years and then last September I broke my tibia and fibula and it took six months to heal and I spoke to Andrew[BKFC UK President] in that time and it sucks being retired not being able to do anything so I knew when I get healed I’ve got something left, it’s lit a fire in me to f****ng get busy again!”

That time with his own thoughts, reflecting on his MMA career during the period through injury led ‘Judo’ Jimmy to take pride in the fact he carries a lot of ability from multiple different disciplines. He wants to write a new chapter in his long and successful combat sports career and is chomping at the bit to throw down in the rawest of them all: bare knuckle fighting.
“It’s a challenging fight, it’s a challenging sport and it’s very different, I’m nervous, excited and f****ng ready to go, I’m 41 years olds and I’ve been out almost two and a half years so I can’t be lazy man, I’ve got to work my ass off, so I’m working hard, I’m going to try and give the best showing of myself and represent the old boys and do us old boys proud!”
Will he return to MMA or carry on in bare knuckle?
He may be an old boy but he’s well equipped and well experienced with fights in the UFC, KSW, Bellator, Cage Warriors and more. When asked if would ever return to cage and mixed martial arts he paused and said:
“At the minute, I’m gonna have this fight and see how that goes, if I do well at this and my body holds up and I don’t embarrass myself because I’m old as f**k then I’ll do another one of these{bare knuckle fights] but we’ll do this and if MMA comes back on the table then we’ll see but I’m doing this because I want to fight and I enjoy competing, it’s not anything else but that, I’m happy with everything here, the prmotion, the set-up, it’s a privilege to be a part of it!”
He went on to add “Just to be competing at this level again being around it today[BKFC 77 press conference] is giving me butterflies, I’ve not been around this for a few years so it’s good, it feels good!
