After several weeks of back and forth between BKFC world featherweight champion Kai Stewart and UK champion Gary Fox it looks like the fight is further away now than it’s ever been despite their first face off in Texas at the weekend at BKFC 76.
Since becoming the BKFC UK featherweight champion, Gary Fox has only been looking up, and that’s for the biggest fights with the biggest names possible. A man who’s not too bothered about purses and terms he just wants to fight the best of the bunch. With that said, he’s been non-stop calling for the potential fight with Kai Stewart who’s been the reigning world champion in his weight class since his unanimous decision victory over Louie Lopez in 2023 and has since amassed four successful title defences.
Seemingly, Stewart doesn’t want any part of getting in the ring with Gary Fox after declaring himself moving up to the 155lb lightweight division on the DAZN broadcast this past Saturday as he’s “cleared it out”. Reffering to the challenges at 145lb. This will come as a massive disappointment to the UK belt holder who believes his ability causes the American all sorts of problems and could pull of the victory if they were to knuckle up and throw down!
I Moustache You A Question, But I’ll Shave It For Later!
During their first ever meeting at BKFC 76 the pair squared off and compared moustaches in a light hearted response to Fox growing one for the first time in his life to mirror the look of Stewart until he signs to fight, or, doesn’t.
In a recent interview with FullForceCombat, Fox said “I do feel his cage is rattled, I do feel like he’s not as confident as what he said before my last fight[Win Over Chipchase] but like I said, they were having back and forth, him and Jonno, so that’s why I jumped on and called him straight out after the fight”
A man who’s been through the trenches and has the scars to prove it has shown his more comical side with the growth of the moustache and joked “I need a big fight, and that’s the one, look, I’ve even grown a big tash for it, I’ve never grew no facial hair in my life, I’m nearly forty years old and it’s about an inch long now, I need it to come off so I need a date or something because if it doesn’t happen[the fight with Kai] then this is coming off!”
It Appeared That The Fight Was Agreed, So What Happened?
Now it seems that Kai has had a change of heart within the last four weeks and has opted to move up to the division above despite previously accepting the challenge. On May 16th Bare Knuckle News UK reported via Instagram that the fight was verbally agreed and that the champion had accepted:

It’s On – King Kai Accepts Gary Fox Showdown 🇬🇧✈️🇺🇸
Yes that’s right… the 145 King Kai has finally accepted the challenge from British champ Gary Fox after weeks of relentless online taunting!
Since Foxy snatched the British title, he’s been non-stop calling for a scrap with the reigning world champ – tagging him, baiting him, even going as far as growing a moustache to try and out-’tash Kai 🤣
Kai finally broke silence after teasing a possible move up to 155lbs, and made it clear he ain’t backing down from the Brit.
He said:
“Look, OK… I’ll fight you – if you fly to me. It’s a long way to go just to kick your arse.”
So What Next For Gary Fox If The Fight Doesn’t Happen?
Well, first things first, he will shave the moustache off and then look for the biggest fight available. He will undoubtably be making noise to throw his name in the hat to fight for what will be a vacant featherweight world championship should Kai move up weight class. Despite holding a title Fox isn’t ranked with the BKFC and that’s where it might become a bit tricky however, they’ve now seen what the British boys can do on short notice and a regular basis after his good friend Ben Bonner picked up the interim world lightweight strap with a win over Tony Soto at BKFC 76.
“It’s A Rattlesnake, I’m Gonna Catch It!”
Aswell as trying to push for a life changing fight with the current world champion, ‘Foxy’ has been up to his usual tricks in Texas, he was seen on Fuse UK Instagram hunting down a rattlesnake, unaware of it’s killing power he asked ” does it bite?” to which Lou Fuse responded “Yeah, it’s f***ing poisonous”. The UK champion then continued in his pursuit. Some say that the Fox found the Snake and shortly after the serpent had bitten him, it died.
